Description:

Applicants should have extensive knowledge of medical insurance billing processes, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and carry out assignments independently while exercising good judgment and strong customer service skills. Proficiency in Excel is preferred.

This position is full time Monday - Friday.

Duties:

Responsibilities include:

Communicates with referring physician offices and facility personnel including clinicians or physicians as required to assist in obtaining authorizations for services.

Contacts insurance companies to verify medical benefits and authorization requirements for services.

Assists and facilitates expedient and professional patient care.

Research & Appeal all of the "No Authorization" denials across multiple clients.

Supports various work queues troubleshooting and analysis work for patients in these queues.

Performs ad-hoc analysis projects for the Auth department.

Files claims to primary or secondary insurance companies when applicable.

Evaluates, develops, and applies procedures and policies for insurance AR management.

Responds to patient and insurance inquiries and research/resolve unpaid accounts.

Reviews AR as a whole and identifies trends in rejects and denials.

Posts insurance rejects/denials to accounts.

Answers incoming customer service calls. Notify Privacy Officer of any breach in security or leak of PHI or ePHI.

Participate in all compliance and HIPAA training opportunities.

Maintain strictest confidentiality.

 

Qualifications:

PREREQUISITES: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience with Windows applications. Excellent Customer Service skills.

Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

Familiarity with working in Epic.

Experience answering a multi-line telephone.

Regular and punctual attendance.

2 year of previous medical office experience is desired. 2 year of previous experience with computers and accurate data entry is required.
